I spent a whole month arranging and rearraing my bookshelf, that does not only have to be pleasing to my eye, but also be convenient. You see unlike my adored Oscar Wilde I do not adore beauty for the sake of beauty. I like things to be practical too. That it is probably why I wear my heels less and less often.
This is what I refer to as the knowledge shelf, as all the important books are here: Chambers Dictionary, Oxford Thesaurus, The Writers Handbook and Le Robert French English - English French dictionary. Also on that shelf you can find two letter writing sets, a box full of business cards and one of the X-mas gifts I made last year, that was never taken by someone...
English shelf, quite obvious, an English policeman (not a real one thank goodness) and a small collection of English books. Also in the background is my first every pay cheque and a photo of Charlie as he is English...
Lithuanian shelf... A pile of books collected while in Lithuania, some that I have been covered with pink paper, a picture from Spain and a photograph of Millie as she has a Lithuanian passport now.
I like this arrangement for now. I am sure in time I will fill the shelf up and yet again Graham will moan like mad when we will have to move again...
