Les Choristes

Recently a neighbour of ours was very kind to lend me a DVD called Les Choristes and one Saturday afternoon when I had time to spare I decided to watch this film. He told me it was a classic and a must see for somebody like me.
The film began and soon I found myself attached to the computer screen like my life depended on it.
Even though I have nothing in common with war orphans or music teachers, I felt like I felt for them, like I wanted to reach out help them and join them.
And when the end of film came and the director of school was laughing at the music teacher I felt anger.
The story is simple, it begins at the present time but we are soon transported to the end of 1940's, a live in school- orphanage. A new teacher, this kind little man with a bubbly face, is coming into a school and we feel the fear as he does. He is quickly introduced to awful punishments and abuse of children at school, and tries to do everything to understand it and to change it. The story goes as his personal diary... In few months time we see our nice teacher starting to teach the choral and how the choral changes the environment of school etc.
If you haven't seen this film it is a must and if you understand French you should watch it in the original language.
I do not wish to disclose too many details as if you haven't seen the film you shouldn't know any more than I already told you. It is touching and emotional film, and if you are a lover of music you will definitely enjoy it.
I enclose these two links. Be careful don't be tempted better get the film now without reading the description because it is worth it. The second film is a trailer to give you a better idea as I am neither a critic nor some kind of professional to describe films for you.
