I'm tired but I am loving every moment of this...

Five articles of mine were published today. One more to be published next week, and two already in queue. Also an interview ready to be typed out, and another person ready to be interviewed any moment.
It's good.
However the school year is coming to an end on the 20th and from the 1st of July, I'll be on holiday wage and that is a bit smaller. One of the newspapers I write for also goes on holiday in August meaning, that I'll have to do something else to get that needed extra bit of cash.
My dad is driving me mental to make me insure myself for 120 litas a month with a company he works for, he can't understand my I don't want it, answer nor does he accept, I can't afford it anyway, it's starting to get on my nerves.

I earn 1719,30 Litas a month at school, of which 1400 is for rent and another 250 to pay the bills. You can count what I have left to live on. It is the articles that get published that pay for food (which is about 500 litas a month). The last thing I need is some direct debit rope round my neck. But he cares for me so much; he keeps on about it, that I am young an should insure my future. The thing is, I don't believe in that kind of insurance.

If I was in the UK, I'd gladly pay for health insurance with BUPA, because it is worth it. I'd invest in property (if I had the funds) because even if it may loose value, once it's paid for and made to be energy independent no one can take it away, yet all this insurance bullshit where it promises me mountains of money when I get old... I don't want to get old and get lots of money, I want to enjoy my life now, and just have a good base. No luxuries needed. Also with a global financial crisis happening the last thing I want is to put my money with a company that invests in stocks and shares, because that's a financial suicide as far as I can see.

I am sure it's obvious I hate that insurance idea. I'll just focus on the fact that I am published yet again. 20 articles in my portfolio. Lovely.

Congratulations on 20 articles (perhaps more now). What are your possibilities for getting royalties from reprints / reuse of articles (sorry if I sound like a moron)?

Insurance can have its place, however, I tend to be suspicious of people who want my money now in exchange for future promises.

Richard your question is not stupid. I pass the copyright of my work to the publisher, according to the contract, I get nothing for reprints or for later use of my photographs. It's a bit unfair, considering the people are always late to pay me. I don't believe in insurance especially if some is trying to force it on to me.
